Taoist Long Life Qigong is a comprehensive system that has many possible end applications, from personal healing at all levels, to martial arts and transpersonal states. The set is characterised by its emphasis on upright and relaxed posture, to achive this end the set employs a sequence of rotations beginning at the wrists and progressing to the torso and down to the ankles to release tension from the body and encourage the flow of Qi, flushing out toxins and revitalising the body. while significantly slowing down the effects of time on the body.
This set is well known for realigning the skeleton, refreshing the nervous system, strengthening connective tissue and optimising the range of movement through all of the joints while lubricating and decalcifing all the joints.
On a muscular and cellular level the soft movements massage all the muscles while giving them a gentle strecth, this facilitates the removal of metabolic wastes and stale Qi allowing the cells to be replenised and reoxegenated and supplied with fresh abundant Qi. The first phase. Healing.
This realigns the whole body/ being and starts to correct any long term missalignments and clear the effects of injuries and illness. Here we aquire correct breathing and balance the organ energies while learning techniques to calm and clear the mind and develop the discipline to continue and develop a very beneficial daily practice. Here the focus is on remedial applications and nutritional medicine with application of Qi massage as required.
The second phase. Optimisation.
This phase employs exactly the same movements with the difference being that they are practiced for longer duration with more work done on the foundation and strenghtening the legs and building mental and physical endurance.
This phase is ended with Qi harvesting and cultivation with standing and seated meditation to develop positive mental atributes and a strong resistance to external stressors.
The physical body is beautifully developed and reaches its optimun level of performance.
The third phase. Spiritual.
This phase as the preceeding is founded on exactly the same framework of physical movements and Qi harvesting. It is however joined with more advanced meditation methods and Qi harvesting techniques. Here personal insight and transpersonal states are the goal.

This practice is very easy to learn and do and works instantly, it is good for all people and prevents many physical and mental/emotional maladies. It is perfect for removing aches and pains and brightening up the day and does not require much time, energy or concentration to work really well. There is no religious dogma attached or any attempt to change a persons ideas or perspective. It can be learned in a few days and for the very sick and weak will start to work the same day.
